Vogue Fashion

Last night was the first night in days that I have had the chance to sit down and read a fashion magazine. I get a lot of inspiration from the pages of various publications and last night was no different. I was reading the December issue of Vogue and they did this tiny little article on Alpine Ski sweaters. When I saw the photos included with the article I was so excited because as it turns out I have something very similar. Yeah!! I always love it when I find something in a magazine that I love and turn to my closet to find a like item. Fabulous fashion at a very discounted price always gives me the giggles. Below is a picture of the article and also the fab sweater that I found in my closet.

Shoes..Yumm

Ok so I have a problem and here it is..footwear. Like Ive said before I live in Utah and we get weather - like wake up to 3 feet of snow weather. Here is my style dilemma, I work in a small business complex and the owners rarely snow plow the parking lot. So picture this. Fresh snow in the morning that slightly melts in the afternoon that refreezes by the time I get off work. I have fallen on my ass so many times in the past two years along. So now that I'm trying to be more fashion conscience, how do I put my best foot forward. I am currently wearing running shoes but they really don't go with dress pants. At the same time I don't want to wear heels cause they offer very little traction regardless of heel height.

What do you ladies that live in snow prone area do? Leave a comment and let me know. I'd love to hear from you.

Shopping and Product Review...Partically

Do you remember Anne Hathaway's 'The Princess Diaries'? Do you remember her standing in front of that mirror saying this is as good as its going to get. Ya, that's how I feel. My hair, nails, eyebrows, outfit and shoes are a hot hot mess. Side note I named a cat Fat Louie once. He was a stray the whole block was feeding and he was huge, but I digress.

So this weekend I did my eyebrows. I used the Nads Eyebrow Shaper and I have to say that Im loving this tool. The wax comes in this little tube with a no mess applicator and the tip is slightly slanted so you can really shape the brow just the way you want. The wax doesn't require heat and it warms with your body heat when you put it on. The product comes with 10 re useable fabric strips that you wash in warm water after use. Overall Im very happy with this product. It was easy to use and if I got some wax where it wasn't supposed to be I just used warm water to remove it. I purchased it at Target for I believe $6 or $7, which is way less than my salon wanted to charge me and it has enough wax for probably 4 applications - so its the gift that keeps on giving :)

Another thing I tired this weekend was the
Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. I have wanted to try this product for awhile. I originally went to Macy's Black Friday sale to pick this up and the lady behind the counter told me they don't carry it in that store...GRRRR. So I found it online and bit the bullet and purchased it full price. After check out I was offered a $10 rebate by the website which made me feels tons better, cause I HATE paying full price especially on a product I'm just trying for the first time. Anyway it came a few days ago and I used it for the first time Saturday. The bottle is very small and I was expecting more for the price but the mask was thick and I didn't need a lot. It dried fast and tight (which was an interesting feeling to say the least). My skin normally takes a few days to react to something so Ill keep you all updated as to how it faired

Now onto the buys! So I live out in Utah and there are not a lot of options nearby for shopping. The best store we have is Nordstrom and they just recently announced they are closing ( get my drift now on the lack of shopping options). Anyway, I headed to Target with my spend $50 get a $10 gift card coupon and found the cutest coat. I love how the universe speaks. I was telling my Mister just the other say that I needed a new coat. Retail was 69.99 which I thought was reasonable since its Wool and heavy duty warm. So I snagged it up in a small and checked out coupons in hand. I have been wearing it ever since and am really loving the color, fabric and cut. The picture looks almost grey but its a blue/brown combo that I am just finding divine.

Next on the polish list is hair. I washed it last night and just let it air dry rather than putting it up in a bun. I really want to see how long it was and just what Im working with lol. More progress to follow and hopefully more photos.

Did you find anything great over the weekend? Leave a comment and let me know. I'd love to hear from you
